The Back Country
We went on a family camp trip a few days ago. It was lucky that we found the rest of the family camped out a ways off the beaten path. The type of camping tents we had wasn’t right for the occasion so we had to go shopping. Camping with the right tent is essential. We barely got the right tent on time. Sometimes I worry when I order online that I’ll get the wrong stuff. This was just right. Luckily there was an expedited shipping special. I had the best time camping with everyone. It was a worthwhile experience. Astonishing time!
Security
Home security was a top priority to get done before our vacation trip. You get to a point where what’s in your house really matters - it’s time to secure it. If the computer were swiped, man…that might end us. Installing a security system didn’t take long at all. In fact, it took us longer to get the right info online. It only took four hours to get it in. Never felt safer.

So, how does wireless networking work?
The 802.11 standard, on which networks are based, defines two modes which are infrastructure mode and ad hoc mode. With infrastructure mode, the wireless network is composed of at least one access point which is connected to the wired network infrastructure which includes a set of wireless end stations. This particular configuration is called a Basic Service Set or BSS. An extended service set, or ESS, is a set of multiple BSS sets which form a single subnetwork. Because most WLANs require access to a wired LAN for services such as file servers, printers and Internet links, they usually operate in infrastructure mode.
The difference between Ad Hoc mode and Infrastructure mode is that Ad Hoc mode is just a set of 802.11 wireless stations that communicate directly with each other without using an access point or any connection to a network that is wired. This mode is great for quickly and easily setting up a wireless network where a wireless infrastructure doesn’t exist or is simply not needed for services. Some places where this would be true are hotel rooms, convention centers and airports or any place where wired networks are forbidden.

The problem is that with a wireless network you have to share the bandwidth with all the users connected to the wireless network in a given network. This is what slows the network down and makes intensive operations difficult to perform. It is because of this that wireless networks will never be as fast as a wired Ethernet network.
